History
Lone Star Chorus (LSC) is a nonprofit musical organization committed to excellence in barbershop singing. LSC is a chartered chapter of Sweet Adelines International (SAI) and a member chorus of Great Gulf Coast (GGC) Region 10. The Lone Star chapter of SAI was created in 1993 from three smaller area choruses, Mid-Cities Sound, Fort Worth Metro, and Texas Tradition. The original charter dates back from 1977!
Competition
LSC competes annually in the SAI GGC Region 10 Contest. LSC was the 2005 Great Gulf Coast Region 10 Chorus Champion and competed at Sweet Adeline International Competition 2006. In 2010, LSC was the Regional 2010 1st Place Division AA Chorus and the Sweet Adeline International 5th Place Division AA (Mid-size chorus). In 2023, LSC took home medals for 3rd Place mid-size chorus division and 4th place overall.

Members
LSC members share their love of music in a caring atmosphere with a commitment to individual growth, musical excellence, performance, and community service. The women who join LSC come with a wide variety of musical backgrounds and experience. There is no specific musical training requirement and part of the LSC charter is to provide the opportunity to learn barbershop style singing.

Chorus Community Activities
We strive to provide fun, quality entertainment to the community. We also work to better our community through service projects and volunteering. We perform at many local events throughout Fort Worth, the Mid-Cities, Arlington, and surrounding areas. LSC frequently sings at nursing homes and senior living facilities as well as other community events.

Performance Opportunities
LSC performs at many events around the area annually. Although LSC has many performance opportunities throughout the year the busiest season is around Christmas. LSC provides the opportunity for women in the area to come and sing with us during the Christmas season. It is an opportunity to see what it is like to sing four part a Capella music.

Learning Opportunities
Members of LSC receive weekly group voice lessons from directors as well as a music leadership team including vocal and visual instructors. There are also opportunities for individual vocal improvement sessions, chorus vocal craft days, annual chorus retreat weekend, three Region 10 music education events annually, and chorus coaching sessions with Regional and International Faculty. Organizational learning opportunities also exist as part of the LSC Management Team.
